Because of the strap design, it is much more difficult to wrap StrappyWrap too tightly in comparison to regular wrapping.

If you think about how you start a regular standing wrap - the first wrap around the leg creates compression as you go around, but it isn't until after that it creates the opportunity to really torque more tension.

The beginning of a regular wrap is similar to how StrappyWrap works.
